Bonaroo??? What is that? Well, that is a rock concert held every year about 30 minutes SE of us in the small town of Manchester, TN. They estimate nearly 80,000 in attendance this year.
Last night, my wife and I went to the Wal-Mart near our home and passed out gospel tracts and New Testaments to these young people who have come from as far away as British Columbia, and Los Angles.
Mostly remniscent of the "hippy" culture and New Agey in thought, they, for the most part were open to the discussion and receptive of the literature.
We had a few very good talks and I would like you to pray for all of them we contacted, but these few names in particular: Matt, Jonathan, Peter, and a young lady Darlene talked to and I don't remember her name.
We were out till 1 A.M. (I am dog tired this morning, but blessed.)
In the field for souls, Bro. Ben

Bro. Ben...that is awesome! I wish more churches and Christians would see events like this as a missions and evanglism opportunity and not a "distraction" or "problem". Plant those seeds and leave them in God's hands.

Just like many other times, I found that there was the initial dread, grounded in laziness and apathy, but then you go and start talking and connecting, and soon you develop a burden and you begin to love them because Christ is loving them through you. It turns out to be a joy. I am looking forward to more witnessing opportunities.

God bless ya'll for doing that, Ben. It's too easy to see the negative in anything and anybody, especially in a thing like "Bonaroo" and not do what we should do for our neighbors. They are our neighbors. May the Lord move all of us to be good neighbors.

I know this is an old thread but I just wanted to comment on how awesome this is. At times events like these cause many christians to come protest about how sinful it all is, and as one who was once on the other side I can tell you the reaction from the concert goers would be more if that were the case. But to go pass out tracts and actually talk like you did, as opposed to yelling, the reception is much better. What you did shows God's love, and since they are not being "protested" against they are less likely to be defensive.
