Linda said...''Wow. I have no idea who any of those people are but the whole thing is creepy. And horrible. And why would they change the wording of the Bible so much? I don't get any of it. ''
.......................................................................................... Linda, it is satans master plan to change the word of God to cause confusion on what truth is. Remember in the bible where satan quoted scripture but changed a few words thus changing the meaning. He also likes to cause doubt of Gods word. Thats why there are so many people arguing about differant versions and over ther fact that God can keep His word pure, preserved, inerrant. ~sister Darlene~
Gen 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
Gen 3:2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
Gen 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which [is] in the midst of the garden, God hath said,'' Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
Gen 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman,'' Ye shall not surely die:''
Gen 3:5 ''For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.''
Look how satan changes what God said and how he told Eve Ye shall not surely die causing her to doubt God and His word. ~ sister Darlene ~
Note satan wanted to be like the Most high...
Isa 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! [how] art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
Isa 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
Isa 14:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
The bible says...''Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and [from] the things which are written in this book.'' KJV
Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. KJV
Mat 4:5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
Mat 4:6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in [their] hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Mat 4:7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
Here is what Gods word says nothing added nothing taken away like satan does.
Psa 91:11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
Psa 91:12 They shall bear thee up in [their] hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

...... perhaps my philosophy is too simple, but I don't have to have a complete working understanding of all the textual issues to know that it boils down to a scriptual defense of scripture. God said He would keep His word pure. Psalm 12:6,7, 119:89, 140, Prov. 30:5,6, Matt. 24:35, I Peter 1:23-25
Please hand me a copy of it.
No takers. If you ask me for a copy of "the" pure preserved word of God (for the English speaking people,) I am going to give you a AV 1611 every time. Check and see if the NKJV board was preparing for you the inerrent, infallible, pure, preserved word of God. they never claim it because they do not think it exists. If you are convinced the NKJV fits the bill (even though it has Alexandrian influence,) good, that it what you should stand on. That is what you'll be judged for.
Throughout the Bible, the writers thereof claimed God would keep His word preserved and pure for us. Pick one and let the battle begin, it is your sword.

..............."Some people say they like a particular version because they say it's more readable. Now, readability is one thing, but does the readability conform to what's in the original Greek and Hebrew language? You can have a lot of readability, but if it doesn't match up with what God has said, it's of no profit. In the King James Bible, the words match what God has said. You may say it's difficult to read, but study it out. It's hard in the Hebrew and Greek and, perhaps, even in the English in the King James Bible. But to change it around just to make it simple, or interpreting it, instead of translating it, is wrong." Pastor D.A. Waite, Th. D., Ph. D., Director, The Bible for Today, Inc.
Interesting note The following is a list of the the number of actual words in the versions below.
Version Words
KJV 790685
NIV 726109, 64576 words taken away
NKJV 770930, 19755 words taken away.
RSV 760151, 30534 words taken away.
Now consider the following verse of scripture. " Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. " Luke 8:12 It is interesting to note that the devil comes and takes away the word of God. God in His faithfulness has given the word of God in a pure preserved version in the KJV. Sinful man in his pride has rejected the pure preserved word and instead bought into the lies of modern scholarship. The devil has indeed come, as you can see in the cases of the versions above, and taken away the word. The result: We have seen a dramatic decline in the revivals in our land. Indeed we are living in days of apostasy.
