I was wondering if classical music is okay. I play some classical music on my alto recorder(I need to practice my lessons more and I listen to it also. Is this a bad thing? I didn't know where to place this question can so I put it here.

I personally don't have a problem with some classical music. I perfer the Baroque style, Vivaldi, Mozart, Hayden, Handal, etc. This music is usually light, and happy. There is some music from the Romantic era like Tchachovshy (sp?) and from the more Contemporary era I like some Aaron Copeland. There are others, but I don't know there names off hand.
I listen to the mood of the music. Most all of the contemporary (that produced after 1900,) gets on my nerves. They were experimenting with dramatic chord changes and strange stuff I don't like. I likened it to monster movie music. So I don't listen to much from that era.
Often in classical you can hear the proper beat structure that I have spoken of in other posts. There is the waltz beat, 123,123, etc., and the classic 4/4 beat.
Furthermore, studies show that classical music stimulates the mind whereas modern music has a tendancy to dull the mind. I like a little classical music in the background when I am working or driving.
My 2 cents worth, Bro. Ben
