How wonderful is the very concept of salvation! Just to think that man, who under the condemnation of sin, living in the realm of evil, and waiting the impending doom of hell, has been sought out by this Wonderous God, who in His great love, called to Himself a people that He could shower His goodness and grace upon! That is good enough to run with all day!
There are so many aspects to salvation and I was pondering this one, namely Salvation is not a good idea derived from the wicked mind of man, but is a divine gift whose origin is in God Himself.
Isa 55:9 For [as] the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Man's thought's don't naturally lift to the realm of Heaven and the good graces of God, but are bound up in the limitations of our finite state.
2Cr 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
2Cr 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
Man is lost in the spiritual realm. We, in our natural state, have no map or guide except for that which has been afforded by our Kind and Saving God. Aslo, man is blind. Without a guide, man cannot find his way to God. His efforts are in vain.
Eph 5:8a For ye were sometimes darkness..."
We were not only in darkness, but we were darkness. It was an element of our very being. Try as man may, his best efforts will only devise a vain religion that will ultimately lead to destruction.
Pro 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof [are] the ways of death.
John 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
The Heavenly nature of salvation can be seen in these verses. Man did not come up with a good idea, nor did he figure God out, but God in His undescribable mercy reached down from the realm of eternity, and embraced sinful man through the redeeming work of His Beloved Son, Jesus!
2Cr 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to [give] the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
Eph 5:8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now [are ye] light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
The origin of salvation is in God so that all the glory and honor and dominion will be given to He who deserves it...God!
1Jo 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.
