I came across a verse in Revelation that has me a little confused. I just read through the previous posts on Eternal Security and indeed this is what I believe in. Following is the verse:
Rev 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
The way I read this, it is possible to have your name in the Book of Life and then have it blotted out.
Anyone care to comment?
Thanks, Donna

Psa 69:28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.
All of the living are recorded in the book of the living also known as the book of life.
Rev 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
The overcomers are the redeemed who have had their sins washed away by the blood of the Lamb. These will not have their name erased or blotted out of the book of life.
Rev 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, [the anti-christ] whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Their is a difference between the book of life and the book of life of the Lamb also know as the Lambs book of life.
Rev 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.
The Lord will open the book of life in the end and judge people according to their works.
Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
All that have not been washed in the blood of Jesus will be judged according to their works, found without Christ, and blotted out of the book of life. The remaining names will compile then what God already knows now as the Lambs book of life.
Make sense? I hope so. If not ask and I will try to clarify.
