This question has came to our minds many times lately. When it the true Sabbath? Some of the Jewish still keep the Sabbath on Saturday well it starts from sunset friday to sunset saturday. Also so do the Seven day Adv(not sure how to spell this) However what does the bible say about that. Is the true Sabbath on Saturday and are we resting on the wrong day? We are just wondering. If we go back to Genesis God rested on the seventh day and he blessed that day. Even when God led Israel out of Egypt he told them to rest on the seventh day. He even told them to keep it HOLY in the Ten commandmetns. If Sunday is the first day of the week for us then are we not to keep Saturday Holy as the passages tells us to keep the seventh day holy... We have read that the Church used to keep Saturday holy however due to the satanic apostasy that gripped the church the Saturday was one of the first things that have fell under the attack. And that Sunday was the day commonly used to honor the sun god in the roman empire. We are just not sure about this and would like some sound biblical reasons and when we should rest as the lord has told us to do. Any help would be appricated. Thanks Gerald and Glenda Gay

As with other Old Testament commandments and laws they must be viewed in the light of the fulfillment of many O.T. in the person of Jesus Christ. Notice the following scripture. "Come unto me, all [ye] that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke [is] easy, and my burden is light. At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat. But when the Pharisees saw [it], they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day. But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him; How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests? Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless? But I say unto you, That in this place is [one] greater than the temple. But if ye had known what [this] meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless. For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day." Matt. 11:28-12:8 Jesus Christ is the promised rest of the O.T. The Sabbath has been completed in a person and we are to "come unto Him..." who has fulfilled the laws requirement. Here is a very informative and balanced article dealing with the Sabbath issue. I hope it is a blessing. www.wayoflife.org/fbns/sabbath-yesterday-today.htmlBro. Ben
