We recently enjoyed a wonderful week of family camp at The Wilds in NC. By the end of the week, we had been edified, refreshed, and had some things to "chew on" for a while.
One of the things we're still discussing is something the preacher, Bro. Binney, mentioned about Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." We took this verse to be a promise, that if we train up our children right, they will not depart from the way. He said that the Proverbs are not promises, they are principles, and that sometimes children raised in godly homes choose to go astray. In this heartbreaking circumstance, the parents are not at fault and are not judged for the sins of their child.
Principles, he said, are generally true statements. For example, "A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men" is generally true, but doesn't happen every time.
Any comment from any of you?

That is definatley something to think on. I believe the Bible says what it means, It brings to mind the prodigal son.
I know a man who has stood for the Bible and Christian standards and all his children are saved and working for the Lord and have standards themselves.
