Sisters, Well, after getting home from some grocery shopping, I am not sure what I will make for supper. With all this humidity and heat, and the drizzle outside, it sure looks like a colder supper would be in order..Darlene, that dish sounds good..it's similar to Jeff's boiled dinner concoction he loves..I usually forget to add one ingredient..lol thank goodness for canned potatoes at times..
We are definitely having salad!!
I would love to see some easy summer recipes...Tomorrow will be stuffed green peppers in the crockpot...
God bless, Sister Penny

Tonight, I came home, after a long day, then stopping at the pharmacy to get new arthritus meds to a lovely home cooked meal prepared by my Jeffrey...Spaghetti..it was great..
Seems this hot weather is really decreasing my appetite...I only have fruit and yogurt during the day.

<<>>Also what were some of the titles of the good wholesome cookbooks that you use to have? I need to find some good cook books as I seek to eat more all natural.<<>>
Darlene, I had to get rid of ALL of my books 5 years ago when I got sick. I really don't remember exactly the titles. I know I had the Sue Gregg cookbooks, Whole Foods For The Whole Family (La Leche League), Living More with Less Cookbook, an old Rodale Press cook book, Deaf Smith County cookbook that had lots of natural recipes......I know I had several shelves of cookbooks but those are the main natural ones I remember.
On May 2nd, 2001 I got horribly ill from a big formaldehyde exposure. Overnight I was bedridden and could not handle normal things. I have improved greatly in health but I still cannot handle perfume, cannot use regular soap or detergent or shampoo. The hardest thing I have ever done in my life was to part with my books. I have always loved books! But, after this chemical exposure I have a problem with paper more then about 2 years old. We had floor to ceiling book cases in the bedroom (fiction), the dining room (science and how-to), and two long walls in the living room (history, Christian living books, Bible Study books and reference). I now have very few books. I can only buy brand new books. I cannot borrow books from the library or a friend. My few books I keep in zip lock bags in plastic storage totes. I have to buy a new Bible every 2 or 3 years.

Dearest Shoshana,
That is so sad. How awful! That must have been very hard for you, even still. I'm sorry you had to go through all that, not to mention all the health problems on top of it all.
May the Lord heal you completely!
I have always wanted a copy of the, ''The Whole Family (La Leche League)'' cookbook! I will get one one day. I hear that is a good one.
Praying for you dear sister, ~ Darlene ~

Last night plans changed on my meal about the meatloaf, I decided to make huge meat balls with a mushroom sauce over the top! yummy! The Lord gave me the idea for this recipe, I was not sure how they would taste, but it sounded good...and it was good!
Bro Ben called while I was preparing supper and invited me to our favorite Mexican restaurant. I decided to continue the meal for the children. I made a huge batch of cold slaw. Meatballs with Mushroom Sauce2 lbs ground beef 2 eggs oatmeal (dry) Worcestershire sauce salt and pepper garlic powder 1 onion (diced) 1 bell pepper (diced) 4 stalks celery tops and all (peeled and diced) Mix well, make into huge balls ( fist size ) ;D Place in 9x13 pan Mix sauce in a bowl then pour over meat balls. Bake at 350' Mean while mix sauce in a bowl then pour over meat balls. Mushroom Sauce1 lg can cream of mushroom soup 1/2 cup diced onion 3 bullion cubes crumbled 2 cups hot water Natures season salt or celery salt and pepper When Bro Ben got home he said maybe we should just eat here.
He decided to take the left overs for lunch, and still take me out, but first he ate a small bowl of macaroni and a small bowl of cold slaw. The meat balls finished after we left. I'm still not sure what is for supper tonight.

I love meatballs. We do ours in a sweet and sour sauce with green and red peppers, pinnapple, it's juice, soy sauce, corn starch and brown sugar. Served over rice, it is so yummy. Sister Darlene, I may have to try yours next time. Thanks for the recipie. I lvoe this kind of post. Tonight we are having a lightly breaded white fish over fried radicco lettuce and beans. It is very easy, light and yummy. I don't know what I'll make for dessert. I think maybe choc. and van. pudding served warm. We love that. Lenni
