Welcome to both of you to this forum. You will find lots of fellowship, prayer warriors, and encouragement here. I am Baptist as well, the "independent and fundamental" type. The kind that most call "fanatic"! My husband is a pastor. We were saddened to hear that you are not able to find a good church there. We lived in the Spanaway area for 3 yrs, and there were several great old fashioned churchs in the area. So keep hope! My husband is going to try to find some places you might try, and as soon as he gets some info I will let you know. We started our church in our home, but praise the Lord we have a building now and room to grow. Homechurch is fine if there is no true church near enough to attend but we think we need to reach more of our community and our living room wouldn't hold that! The days are getting closer to Christs return and we must work while the harvest is ready!I am a "headcoverer" also. It can be hard to cover, people (mostly christians) tend to overreact to a sister wearing a covering. But I do it to be in accordance with Gods word, and feel I must obey God rather than man. All that said....Welcome, we're praying for you. Blessings! Sister Pam

Hi, Just had a chance to login and found so many of you have consented to pray for my eyes. Thank you all so much. Prayer is the greatest gift that we can give. To update all of you let me say that I have consulted friends in the natural health field and have started vitamin and herb therapies. I am hoping to at least stall the process of blindness. And on a positive note having this "threat" hanging over my head does cause me to soak in and greatly appreciate the beauty that surrounds me created by our Heavenly Father. I live in the Rocky Mountain Region in beautiful Colorado and the views are amazing! Please continue to pray for me, and I promise to continue to pray for each of you here in this Forum family. Blessings to All! In Christ's Love, Sister Pamela

Good article, except I think we could add computers to the TV category of bad influences. Don't misunderstand, I love my computer! But I realize it is a time stealer at the very least and if not monitored correctly is far more of a bad influence than anything on TV! That doesn't excuse the filth on TV, there is no excuse for the garbage pumped into our homes through TV. No home should have one. But so many people I know of have more problems with their computer usage than their TV. The TV sits cold in the den while the family members are all off in their own zones sitting in front of their computers learning all kinds of things and it mostly isn't good things. This is happening to lots of Christian families too. Makes me sad! Just proves that good character is lacking in folks these days. Guess we just need to pray harder for our brethren! Sister Pamela

Sister Trinity, Thank you for the info. I will watch the video as soon as I get a chance. I'm kind of stuck with whatever dr. our insurance allows me to see. I appreciate your encouraging words. I agree with you, I think most of us are better informed about ourselves than most drs. Thanks for praying. Sister Pamela

Brother George, Thank you for praying and for the encouragement. I do try to keep up with info and yes it is a blessing to have the world of internet to search through. I know drs. try to keep up but they are so overwhelmed by their schedules I'm sure it is hard for them. My husband is retired from the Air Force and so we have military retirees health care. It is poor to say the least. We are herded through the system like cattle, and overlooked and underheard! This is what the rest of the country will have to look forward to if the President gets his medical plan under way! So if I push too much, I will get ignored and they can even refuse service if I don't go by their advice, and directions! Keep praying, I sure do need it! I'm praying for you too brother. Crystal, thank you for your prayers and for the link on glaucoma. Vitacost is my favorite place to purchase vitamins. I did go to the link and read it, and it was very helpful and encouraging. I will raise my C dosage and continue to take my cod liver oil more faithfully. I will order some of the gingo biloba too. Thanks again for taking the time to let me know about the info. You are a blessing! Pamela

I have a prayer request. I hope you will pray for my eyes. I know that sounds simply stated, let me explain. I have worn glasses for the last 42 years and my eyes have slowly but progressively gotten worse. 2 years ago I went in for my routine exam and was told my eye pressures were high and indicative of glaucoma. I was given eye drops and a new pair of glasses. Little did I know that I was severely allergic to the drops. I couldn't swallow, not even my own saliva. Very unnerving to say the least! Further tests showed that my eyes are malformed and that my high eye pressures were because of that. So I stopped taking the drops. The specialists did not connect the drops to my swallowing problem back then, and it was not for another year or so that a friend who is a doctor of natural medicine said I might not want to try eye drops ever again as one of the little advertised side effects is a stroke like reaction in the throat region. It has taken me over 2 years to be able to begin swallowing again and it is still not back to 100 percent. But now I have a new eye dr. and he wants to put me back on those drops and will not listen to reason as he is convinced that it is glaucoma. My eyes have grown worse, so please pray for me. I feel like I am between a rock and a hard place. I don't want to go blind, but I don't want to risk having another severe reaction to eye drops as I might not survive next time. So if you will pray for me that God will heal my eyes I would be deeply appreciative. It is a great gift to have praying friends. Thank you for including me in your prayers. Sister Pamela

Sister Trinity, Thank you for posting this. Even though I am not Brethren it is always good to hear of folks that endorse and encourage a woman to cover her head. Makes me wonder why this is such a source of contention among Christians these days! The bible is so plain, and yet folks do seem to read it with blinders on! We need to pray that Christians in general will start getting back to following the Bible. Blessings on your day Sister Pamela

Praying for you and your neighbors. We had horrible wildfires here in Colorado around us a few years ago. Very frightening and unsettling. So I know how rough these times can be. Our area has regrown and is beautiful again, and except for the burnt pines you wouldn't suspect what had happened. We get a tremendous amount of lightening here and that is what starts most of our fires, so we all cringe when the lightening gets started. Take care, praying for your safety and a speedy end to the fires. Sister Pamela

Sister Lisa, How wonderful to hear you are studying to become a master herbalist, one of my favorite subjects! I think it is amazing how God has given us everything we need to make ourselves well in the plant life around us. Now we just have to figure out how everything works! So much of what our great grandparents knew has been lost or forgotten. Too bad. To answer your question...I am not yet finished with my training to become a certified and licensed natural practitioner. Most of my studies have been at home and I have been applying myself for 33 years now while raising a family. Now that our children are grown I have been able to get back to more serious study, but now I am also in Bible College, so I have to split my time up carefully! There are a couple of good colleges for study in natural medicine, I have been doing my studies at home through one of their curriculum's. I am also studying under a friend who is a doctor of natural medicine. At my age, (I'm 58) I don't know if I will ever get to the licensed phase, our state is really passing some tough laws, along with some ridiculous standards and guidelines, but I am quite happy either way as I at least have the knowledge to help my family and friends (and myself). And I have never thought of it as a way to make a living. (Good thing for that!) I wish you great success in your studies as we need more interests in these fields. Keep at it. I distribute herbs through Pure Herbs and they have some excellent books on the subject. One of my favorite herbs is Hyssop. We use it for nearly every ailment. My husband has not been sick in 9 years since we started using it! And I use it regularly to keep virus away! We are both around a lot of people and knowing hyssop is there for us has been a blessing!! Blessings to you, Sister Pamela
