I hope you will pardon the comment here from a lady. I know that it is not the usual for a woman to comment on matters of military or political nature but I feel compelled to do so here as the wife of a man who served our country for 27 years retiring at the highest rank and as the mother of 2 sons who are serving their country, both heros in their own right. I am an American, I bleed red, white, and blue. I love my country and the freedoms that it affords me. I have lived all over the world, but no soil is so cherished as this land. It must be seen as good to many others as we have so many aliens, both legal and illeagal trying to make America their home too. I do not love war, but peace and freedom come at the highest cost. Thomas Jefferson said it best, "I would rather have dangerous freedom, than peaceful slavery." We are able to worship as we wish and cover as we wish and serve God as we wish because all through the history of this great nation we have been blessed to have brave men and women who were willing to pay the ultimate price for freedom. The days are fast approaching when these freedoms may not be ours anymore. The days of the "underground" church may be just around the corner. The fields of Christendom have been said to grow best when watered with the blood of the saints. It has happened before and it could happen again. I will support our troops as long as they need my support. And I will pray for our president that God will lead him in right directions and that he too will recieve Christ as Savior as our last president did. Peaceably, Sister Pamela

WOW! ;D Sister Katrina I think we should crown you queen supreme of frugality! This was a lot of great info you posted and I plan to read through it all. Lots of good ideas and food for thought. I grew up with a mom that wash and reused aluminum foil and bread bags so recycling is in my genes. Mother never thought we were poor, just wise with what we had! Thanks for all the great info. Blessings and prayers, Sister Pamela P.S. Let me know where you want this snow shipped, I will gladly give it to you! ;D

I love to eat, therefore I love to cook! ;D I think most of us on this site have some really great recipes. Can we share? I will start by giving my recipe for Lasagne. It is one of my family's favorites and I fix it every time the family comes to visit. Here it is... Mama C's Lasagna Cook 8oz. lasagna noodles. Drain. Brown 1lb. ground burger and 1lb. sausage (I prefer Jimmy Dean) along with 1 diced onion. Drain if needed. To the drained meat add 3 cups spaghetti sauce (like Prego), 1 can diced mushrooms, 2 cloves garlic (finely diced), salt, pepper, and oregano to your taste preference. In a separate bowl combine 2 cups small curd cottage cheese, 1 can of drained spinach, and 1 egg. In a 13"x9" pan make 2 layers each of noodles, meat sauce, and cottage cheese mixture. Then cover this with 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until the cheese has a nice golden color. Hope your family enjoys this as well as mine. I serve it with salad and garlic-butter French bread. Now for dessert... No dinner meal is complete around our home without dessert! Here is one our favorites... Peanut Butter Cream Pie Heat 2 cups whole milk with 3 cups sugar and 12 tablespoons (yep 12!) of cornstarch together until bubbly (careful not to scorch the milk!). Add 2 cups milk mixed with 12 egg yolks to the heated milk mixture. Cook until thickened. Remove from heat and add 1/2 cup peanut butter. (instead of peanut butter you can make it a coconut pie by adding 1 cup coconut, or make it a chocolate pie by adding 6 Tbsp. cocoa plus 2 more cups sugar, or make it a butterscotch pie by using brown sugar instead of white and add none of the flavorings.) This may sound like a lot, but it makes 2 big 9" pies! Top the pies with meringue. Here's the recipe for Meringue: Beat until thick 4 egg whites, then add while mixer is going 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar, 1/2 cup sugar and 2 tsp. vanilla. You will have to do this recipe twice for 2 pies. I have a wonderful Kitchen Aid mixer but it will only handle one recipe of this at a time in order to have nice fluffy meringue. Bon Appetite! Blessings and Prayers, Sister Pamela

Dear precious sister Pamela,
You are a sweet sister with conviction and I like reading your post, if you were in my town I would church with you. We searched for 13 years here in Middle n for a good conservative church and still have not found one, We started a church in our home as well, I hope it gets big enough for a building to meet in, but it is slow going, were in the bible belt, people like programs and lots of families to fellowship with.
I have some nightmares and extremely bad experiences from two of the IFB churches we were involved in. It still hurts....A church sign once read...Time heals all wounds, and wounds all heels...at the time that sign encouraged me greatly, but now I feel deeply sorry for them all, the shame they will feel and face one day for their ungodly behavior.
What a blessing and encouragement you are around here on this sight...Your definitely one of us...Accepted in the Beloved.
Love your sister and friend, ~ Darlene ~ Sister Darlene I can not begin to tell you how healing your kinds words are to me. Thank you. It means so much to me to be welcome in this place. It is sad that there are so many of us that have been wounded by experiences in church. How I wish it were not so. Thankfully there is a place like this where we can come together and receive encouragement and fellowship and friendship. I hope your homechurch grows and grows, and that you too will be looking for a building to gather in. Oh how our country needs a resurgence of true Baptist churches. There are nearly a half a million people in my town and only 6 fundamental baptist churches, let me tell you...5 of those 6 are nightmarish places to be. That is why we do so much door knocking and soulwinning, we know that there is a needy people that has to be reached while we can. I say while we can because there are little whispers going on that those in political leadership want to put an end to "pesky" door knockers and soulwinners! I think the days of the "underground" church are quickly coming upon us. All we can do is pray and work. Thank you again Darlene for your kind words. So glad to call you my friend and sister. Blessings and Prayers, Sister Pamela

Sister Darlene I want you to know you are in my thoughts and prayers. My youngest child is 35 years old now, but I still remember the months of disabling nausea and fatigue that I went through with all my pregnancies. Nothing seemed to help me so I just waited as patiently as I could until it was time for delivery! I would gladly do it again, but at the same time I'm glad the years of childbearing have past now. Those memories of discomfort are certainly sweetened every time I get to visit with my dear children. I know you feel the same way. I can tell you are a wonderful mother and love your family very dearly. It is an honor and blessing to know you if even by computer! I found myself talking to a friend the other day and relaying to her about "my friend" Darlene. Hope you don't mind! It is so good to read your posts again, I know you probably feel like you have a hundred other things calling for your attention, but it is good to hear from you. Take care of yourself and let the family help you as much as possible so you can be rested up! Blessings and Prayers, Sister Pamela

Sister Trinity I knew a lot of the Hutterite community when we lived in Great Falls, Montana. We lived there from 1976 through 1979. They had a commune several miles out of town. They were kind, religious, very separated people, but they were always welcoming to visitors. The towns people treated them like they had the plague though and I felt sorry for them. That's been a lot of years ago so I hope life is sweeter for them now. Anyway it was nice to visit the site you posted, kind of like getting to see an old friend. Blessings and Prayers, Sister Pamela

Brother Gary I don't know if you are near Fowler, but my husband said he knows of 2 churches there. One is called Pitkin Avenue Baptist Church, pastored by Mike Mulaine. He seems to be a very loving pastor to his people, and his congregation seems to be happy as well. They are KJV from what we have been told. It is a ranching community church so we don't know if they have the old hymns, "cowboy hymns", or a mix or what. As far as dress standards go when they have come to Revivals at our church all their folks have dressed in a conservative manner, although I did not see any women in headcoverings. But "headcovering" women in our area is an extreme rarity. That is all we know about that church. The other church we think is named Fowler Baptist Church, but we don't know anything about them. You probably already know of these churches, but we just wanted to tell you of them just in case the info might be of help to you. If we find anything else we will let you know. Praying you are able to find a wonderful church. Blessings and Prayers, Sister Pamela
